The landscape shown above has tough plants that flower a lot. There is no lawn to mow and once the plants are established it will need a very low level of maintenance.
Florida friendly landscape practices are at the heart of my design philosophy. But what does this mean? Florida friendly includes many factors such as:
Using plants that are hardy but not invasive
Selecting the right plant for the right place
Making sure we irrigation efficiently
Taking care of the soil
Sustainable, ecological, and natural methods are other concepts that are similar to the idea of Florida friendly landscape design. In fact, sustainability is really the core concept in this style of landscaping.
However, local permaculture enthusiasts are taking the idea of sustainability to a whole new level, and I admire that! When it comes to understanding sustainability, there is no substitute for the study of permaculture. It may even be a little ahead of its time when it comes to residential landscapes. But if you are interested there is a local group you can connect with them here: https://orlandopermaculture.org/
Otherwise, I can integrate components of this concept into our design wherever we can.
I am very well versed in all forms of landscaping including traditional and modern. Feel free to browse my website for inspiration and don’t forget to reach out by using the contact link from the menu. Thank you for your visit!
