The focus of Earthwise Horticultural Services is landscape design and installation for existing residential properties. Within that scope I offer a wide range of services. I can handle all aspects of the project from prep/removal to planting and installation to fine tuning the irrigation and drainage as well as outdoor lighting, hardscape, pergolas, sod, rocks, mulch and more. I emphasize the use of Florida Friendly and native plants so you have fewer problems. My approach is holistic in nature with an emphasis on long term success. Success in landscape improvements begins with a good plan. While planning your landscape we'll focus on things such as:

This is my specialty! Landscape re-design and installation for existing residential landscapes. I can skillfully integrate new landscape plans with the existing landscape to provide you with a seamless and intentional look for your property.
If you are considering a complete exterior overhaul, you've come to the right place. I can plan for a refreshed layout of plants, shrubs, trees, hardscapes, and sod. I can also integrate enhancements such as pergolas, water features, and low voltage landscape lighting. In conjunction with the project, I can also handle required irrigation modifications. I will not only handle the design and consultation phase, but I will also personally supervise the installation.

The use of natural stone, pavers, and retaining walls can add distinctive accents to your landscape. This patio is set next to a pool deck. Because the deck surrounding the pool had so little seating room, my client requested an expansion of the outdoor living and entertainment space by adding a paver area. In the foreground you’ll see rocks on the right hand side. This has a drain pipe underneath to facilitate drainage. The retaining wall along the top provides an extra layer of interest, a well defined planting bed, and additional seating for large parties. We used tough shrubs that will get tall and provide privacy along the fence and then tropical plants with showy flowers and foliage to give that relaxed island feel. Overall my client was thrilled with the results!

Landscape lighting is an essential component of any comprehensive outdoor improvement project. Low voltage lighting adds warmth and distinction to any property.

A pergola can add a unique touch of personality to any backyard. I can also help with arbors and trellises.
I custom build all my pergolas, arbors, and trellises. No kits. On the left you can see I designed a built a unique corner pergola with fanned out runners, perfectly symmetrical. I used matching hardware for assembly and finished the patio within using natural stone and short ornamental grass.

Irrigation and Drainage
I am well equipped to handle both landscape irrigation and landscape drainage requirements related to your project.
Irrigation systems must be assessed, modified, and often repaired/updated whenever a landscape improvement project is implemented. Often, I can make improvements that are more efficient and will save money on your water bill.
Drainage must also be considered when working in the landscape. Typically, this must be addressed in almost every project. Grade improvements and drainage updates must also be implemented in conjunction with the landscape project. Problem solving landscape drainage issues is always a priority when considering a landscape design and outdoor improvement project.
